Dr. Bahar Aliakbarian’s Bios:
Dr. Bahar Aliakbarian holds a Ph.D. in Chemical, Material, and Process Engineering and leads a multidisciplinary team at Michigan State University’s Axia Institute. Her work focuses on leveraging engineering and smart technologies to enhance the security, efficiency, and sustainability of food and pharmaceutical supply chains.
As one of the founders of the Axia RFID Lab, Dr. Aliakbarian helped establish one of the world’s first research centers dedicated to exploring RFID applications across industries such as healthcare, agriculture, food, and advanced manufacturing.
Bahar has served as an Ad Hoc Member of the GS1 Healthcare US Executive Leadership Committee and currently chairs the RAIN Alliance Quality Manufacturing Workgroup. She is a frequent speaker at global industry and academic events and has authored over 95 peer-reviewed publications, four book chapters, and holds four patents.
